As a Fly Gyal, we need our health to be at its best. Can’t be strutting the streets for decades without proper health. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. (http://www.who.int/about/definition/en/print.html)
I feel that the majority of the population tends to focus on health at the physical level. People forget that mentality and social well-being are important factors. A person can eat right and exercise daily but still end up with a disease or have to cope with injuries. It takes all three to create “fly” health.
How do you feel about yourself? I read an article this past week about remembering who you really are. I think this is a great place to start. To love yourself and accept yourself for who you are. You do not need to compare. You are ENOUGH.
Mastin Kipp discusses this thought by asking, “Forgot Who You Really Are?” He states to “stay connected to who you are.” As a dancer this can be difficult because people are always telling you what to do, or this and that is not what they want. Remember that you are you. You as an individual are in control of your energy, emotions, and actions. Purify your desires and intentions and let go. Life is going to keep going, and we might as well enjoy the ride. My suggestion, check out the article below and take out of it what will help you. Let’s kickstart that health from the inside out!
