Are you over washing your hair?

If you’re a daily washer; I have a newsflash for you. You are over washing your hair. Washing your hair every day strips essential oils from your head. If you have an oily scalp, then you may want to stick to your daily hair washing care routine.

Experts recommend cleansing the scalp one to three times a week. Cleansing the scalp = sudsing your scalp only. Your roots are greasier than the ends of your hair due to a fatty lubricant; a.k.a. sebum. Heavy shampoos and conditioners can leave residue in your hair. Lighter based shampoos & conditioners are better for people who do not want to deal with the residue.

To lengthen the amount of time you have a good hair day, it’s advised to brush your hair with a natural boar bristle brush at time. The finale is if you have more bad hair days than good days….adjust your shampoo. It takes a little experimentation but the results are well worth it.
