We have come to believe that the more chemicals we put on our face, the more clear it will become. Or the more expensive the cleaner, toner, moisturizer, the better skin we will have. This is not always the case. A natural and inexpensive way to cleanse your face is to use coconut oil as a cleanser and an apple cider vinegar toner. Try it out for yourself before you make that face again.
Apple cider vinegar is a natural affordable antiseptic and antibacterial. When the liquid contains raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar it balances the natural pH of the skin, exfoliates dead skin cells, clears away excess oils/make up, and can improve acne, sun, and age spots.
- Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar
- Distilled water
- Optional: essential oils or herbal tea
- For sensitive skin: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 4 parts water
- For normal skin: Combine 1 part apple cider vinegar with 2 parts water
- For oily skin: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 1 part water
You can store the toner in a spray bottle or glass container and apply with a cotton square to your face after cleansing. Do not rinse it off after application.
First try the sensitive skin ratio to see how your skin reacts. Experiment to see what ratio fits best for your particular skin type. After a while, if you feel the solution is weak, you can increase the ratio of apple cider vinegar to water gradually. Do not increase more than a 1:1 ratio of water to apple cider vinegar.
Thank you to friends, coconuts and kettleballs for the above information.
