Vaseline Can Do This Too!

One of the least expensive beauty remedies out there, this little bottle packs all the punches!  For example:

  • To help earring insertion: rub a little Vaseline on your ear lobes before inserting those earrings if it’s been a minute.
  • Chapped/Dry nose: adds back moisture.
  • Tame eyebrows: will help to hold eyebrow hairs in position
  • Soothe dry cuticles: it works just as well as those expensive cuticle creams
  • Open a stubborn nail polish: before you unscrew, add a bit
  • Removing fake eyelashes: this is a lifesaver…rub a tiny bit on your lash line with a cotton ball…wait a few minutes & gently peel away
  • Removing stubborn water-proof eyeliner, mascara, or eyeshadow.
  • Highlight your cheekbones: adds a dewy finish.
  • Protect your skin when you dye your hair: dab a layer of Vaseline on your hair line. It prevents your skin from getting dyed the same color as your hair.
  • Prevent chafing: wherever you’re chafing, add a little of this substance for instant relief

Barbie-Inspired Valentine’s Day Look

Barbie Fashion

By Jadée Nikita

Spice things up this Valentine’s Day with a cute outfit inspired by two mega pop culture icons – classic Barbie and the neoteric 50 Shades of Grey.  Both phenomenons serve as the perfect template for this season’s “it” colors.  Barbie pink looks great on all skin tones and can appear sophisticated when dressed up with the appropriate accessories.  You can be daring and shop for a sculpted electric pink cocktail dress, or be discreet and incorporate the pink into smaller statement pieces like clutches and pencil skirts.  Barbie inspired Jeffrey Campbell for Moschino this season, so let her be your muse, too 🙂

To top off the look, pair your cocktail dress with a subdued heather grey cape with fur lining around the collar and hem.  This screams softened elegance!  For us Fly Gyal’s who like to accessorize, keep your necklace, bracelets, and and rings minimal.  I prefer mixing thin pieces of gold and black jewelry to break up the vibrancy of the pink, then adding a big, fancy cocktail ring to set it off.  Talk about eat your heart out!  He will be swooning before you even say, “hello.”

Happy Valentine’s Day Fly Gyal’s!

Yoga for Dancers

Photo via Blog Plos Org

By Cody Frank

Yoga is a workout where you can calm the mind and sculpt the body at the same time. Generally, it is a excellent addition to any work out. Are you unsure about what to do at a yoga class? Dancers participating in yoga for the first time? Fear not. You have successfully lived the tale after your first dance class and audition. You can do this as well.

  • Go in with an open mind, who knows what results could happen for you? Physically or mentally.
  • First class, locate yourself in the back of the room. You will be able to follow people in the front of the room and can look to the side. In addition, you don’t have to worry about looking foolish even though that’s not an issue. You are here for yourself, not for comparison.
  • Remember, you can take a break. This isn’t a test or a competition. Yoga is rejuvenating for your body. If you feel like resting, take a break. This is not a class you have to keep on pushing through.
  • Experiment with different types of yoga classes to find the best style and teacher for you. For the daredevils there are classes in acroyoga and aerial yoga. Personally, I am a Hatha fan because it’s more about relaxing and breathing. Power yoga is a favorite among money that combines power poses and breathing in a structure. Another popular form is Bikram which is a sequence of poses in a hot room. The list goes on. 2015 Flygyal, go out there and try something new.
