Brows are limitless. They can be soft and mellow or fearlessly strong.  Thicker eye brows give a youthful appearance. Brows have been one of the most painted, powdered, drawn facial features for centuries. They reflect the most up-to-date fashion trends by the season. They express what you’re feeling.  But brows can go wrong quickly. Avoid having a constant expression of surprise or quizzical look on your face all day by mastering the right techniques and acquiring the right products.

Take a look in the mirror. Take a moment to analyze your brows. Check your shape. If some plucking is required, just pluck the stray hairs away (usually located underneath the tail of the brow). It’s important to avoid over-plucking. You’ll have to wait at least 3-4 weeks to try again. If your not sure head over to Sephora Anastasia studio, Benefit Brow Bar, or your local fav brow spot.

For a more natural look, skip brow pencils. If you’re not familiar with a brow pencil you can tend to have a bit of a heavy hand. You may risk your brows looking painted on or cartoony.

Go shopping for a sturdy angled brow brush, with a spool on the end. This would be a great find and the spool will help with blending.

Purchase a brow powder with two shades. A lighter shade for a softer application or daytime look. The darker shade will help vamp up your brows for any exciting drama coming your way at night. Having two shades is also wonderful for creating a more blended balance application.

To apply, start with the lighter shade at the center of your brow (arch) in the direction your hair naturally grows, gently brush brow product in feather like strokes. This will allow you to apply product onto the hair, not so much on the skin. This will also help you gain the feel of you brush, hand motion, and pressure. Remember a little goes a long way and you can build more product at ease. Continue to brush powder gently to the tail end of your brow, the outer corner of your brow. With left over brow powder on brush, start blending the inner corner of brow to arch, then tail.Take a step back away from mirror. This will help you to see if any adjustment is necessary. Like adding a bit of that darker shade, even out proportions, or were you need to remove a bit.

Professional Tip: Use a tiny dab of concealer or foundation to clean up. Use a sponge for edges. For lighting the inner corner of brows if the appear to heavy use the spool end of your brow brush. For an all day lasting effect, seal those gorgeous creatures with a setting spray, cosmetic sealer, gel, or a brow wax .
